Sumer has over 17 years of experience as a physical therapist, and over 10 years as a Pelvic PT. She practiced in New York City up until 3 years ago when she moved to the sunshine state. She holds a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from Hunter College in NYC and a Post-Professional Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Stony Brook University. Sumer has found her passion in the rehabilitation of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and has focused her practice in this specialty area for the last 10 years. Her expert care helps to alleviate pain and weakness in the pelvic floor muscles and treats symptoms related to pregnancy and post-partum, urinary incontinence, urgency and frequency, chronic prostatitis, erectile dysfunction, abdominal adhesions, GI and bowel disorders, and painful intercourse. Sumer’s expertise in male and female (adult and pediatric) pelvic rehabilitation, combined with her orthopedic foundation, allows her to provide a holistic, healing approach that includes visceral manipulation, soft tissue mobilization, manual therapy, and muscle energy techniques to provide her patients with long-lasting results.
